I’ve had enough. I once knew a man who was jumped in a dark parking lot by a couple thugs set on beating him. I don’t really know the reason, but it wasn’t a nice thing to do. After a couple blows, he said into the darkness, “He’s had enough.” Surprisingly, one of the thugs said, “Yeah, he’s had enough,” and they left him there. I certainly wish I could do that with the “political season.”
Every day when I open my email, there are multiple candidates wanting me to answer surveys and give them my opinion. And by the way, they want me to send a donation. I delete the emails. If I gave to every cause that asked for money, I’d have to set up a “Fund Me” page.
Guilt does not work on me. People who post items on FaceBook with the admonishment that if I care for the injured dog, abandoned child, the state of some centenarian’s health, I will repost. One I remember is a cute little dog with his head hanging low with the caption, “People say I’m so ugly that nobody will share my picture. That’s all it takes for me to move on to the next post. It is not that I don’t care; I do, but I refuse to give in to imposed guilt.
Imposed guilt is what the political begging emails contain.
But you ignored us. |
Now, our West Virginia data is useless and Trump is about to claw back his lead! |

Margie actually HATES Barack Obama? (please say we’re wrong!)

I average about 16 of these emails everyday. The above are three of the many I received today. All asking for my “opinion” and a generous donation. Suppose I gave $5.00 to each. That would be 80.00 a day or $2,400 a month. Campaign spending has gotten out of hand. Some candidates and supporters are more concerned with appearances than they are with substance. Tell me what you can actually do. And while you are at it, Mr./Ms. Candidate, consider what worthy causes the money you are spending could help.
Then there is the political situation. I need not define it for the savvy readers of this blog. Let’s just say (to paraphrase a well-known personage) I don’t like liars and conmen. They are all losers and suckers.
What do you think would happen if we all got together and tried the tactic of the man that I mention in the first paragraph. We could all shout into the universe and hope that some voice of authority would say, “They’ve had enough.”
In the meantime, I’ll just try it.
I’ve had enough!!
